The Best Artistic Achievement award commends the performance that presented the most artistically valid concept and the highest level of excellence in its performance.  The winning piece was true poetry perfectly executed through the art of dance. 

Audience Pick Award - Don't Stop the Beat by Wyld Styl

Our audience was eager to cast votes for the Audience Pick Award.  They let their voices be heard loud and clear when an overwhelming majority voted for Wyld Styl.

Dance Houston Award - Dance Force Productions

The Dance Houston Award recognizes the company that most exemplifies the mission of our organization: to increase dance appreciation in Houston.  An outstanding and entertaining onstage performance is prerequisite for consideration, and from there companies are judged for their pre-show and backstage professionalism.

Best Dance Theater - The Art of Survival by Uptown Productions

The Best Dance Theater award recognizes the brilliant and entertaining fusion of dance and theater. In the winning piece, the choreography cleverly used dance to develop characters and to tell an entertaining story.

Most Creative Concept - A Phantom Love by Barbara King's Dance Company

The Most Creative Concept award goes to the company that brought a new and intriguing performance concept to the stage.  The winning company boldly blended several styles of rarely-fused dances to create something altogether new, daring, and different. 

Impact Award - Electric Light Circus by Shawn Welling’s Planet Funk

The Impact Award recognizes the performance that left a lasting impression on the audience.  Through the use of beautifully designed props, a full utilization of major theater devices, and high energy dance moves, this piece created the most stunning visual effect of all.
