    Houston Metropolitan Dance Company's Spring Concert will present the company’s diverse dance styles. Six premieres and two reprisals are featured on the evening program. The performance includes The Hunt by choreographer Robert Battle; Thom Clock by Jason Parsons; Fosse’s World by Christine Carlson; a lyrical new work by Kristina Burgess; a riveting tap number by Houston choreographer Kim Kelley; and new works by Houston Met’s own Kijaunta Lucas and Jhon Stronks. The concert is on Friday, April 27, 2007 at 8:00 p.m. in the Cullen Theater at the Wortham Center.

    Ad Deum Dance Company's "Mystery and Miracle"

Ad Deum is a contemporary dance company that explores Christian themes through dance. Mystery and Miracle will feature new works by choreographers Kathleen Lobue, Caleb Mitchell, Paola Georgudis and Randall Flinn with live music from Kemper Crabb and Mysterium

    Dance Salad International Dance Festival
     

    The 12th annual Dance Salad Festival will be presented on April 5 - 7 at The Wortham's Cullen Theater. Dance Salad is a production curated by Nancy Henderek comprised of performances by companies and dancers from around the world, chosen for their excellence. This year's featured artists hail from nine different companies, and they will perform modern, contemporary, and classical dance.

    Ticket Giveaway: The presenters of Dance Salad are offering five complimentary tickets to this year's concert.     Master Class by Ballets Jazz du Montreal
     

    From Canada, Ballet sJazz du Montreal, also known as [bjm_danse], blends dance styles to create an original mix that is vibrant, accessible and interfused with elements of the avant-garde. While [bjm_danse] is in Houston for the Dance Salad performance, company dancer James Gregg will offer a master class in modern jazz for intermediate and advanced level dancers. Space is limited--register today.

    The Master Class is this Saturday, April 7, 11:00am – 12:30pm, Barnevelder Arts/Movement Complex, 2201 Preston, Houston, TX 77003. Registration: $10 in advance, $15 at door.

    Marvelous Motion Auditions
     

    Marvelous Motion will be hosting auditions for its company on April 21st at 5:00pm at their studio in Stafford. Auditions are for all ages and there is a $10 registration fee.

    Young & Intense Summer Dance Camp

    Presented by Dance Houston Young & Intense offers training and performance opportunities in modern, jazz, hip hop, social, and cultural dance to dancers ages twelve to sixteen. A two-week intensive workshop and performance, Young & Intense plants the seeds for discipline and growth in Houston’s young dancers. It will be July 9 - 20 at Mitsi Dancing School. Registration is now open.


     

    Heaven & Earth Debut

    Heaven and Earth tells the story of a girl, Selene, who lives in Heaven. Though she has everlasting life and a handsome suitor, Selene yearns for more--true love. When she steps beyond the boundaries of Heaven, she finds a strange but exciting man. Worlds collide as Heaven and Earth battle for Selene's heart by the artistry of the sword.

    Heaven and Earth will be presented by Dance of Asian America at the Hobby Center's Zilkha Hall on April 21 & 22, 2007. The featured artists are Gold medalist and nationally renown dancers from China. Artistic Director Janie Yao invites you to join her onstage after Saturday night's concert for a champagne toast to her guest artists.
