Ad Deum presents “Offerings” on November 18 & 19th at Barnevelder Arts/Movement Complex. The company will present works by choreographers Caleb Mitchel from the Houston Ballet, Hope Boykin from Alvin Ailey, and Steve Rooks from Martha Graham dance companies. Artistic Director Randall Flinn will also present a new work in which dancers interact with chairs in movements that range from trapped, dependent, connected, and manipulating. In all the works, the Ad Deum dancers take on the challenge of balancing daring, acrobatic movements with grace and impeccable technique.

Featured guest artist Revolve Dance Company will preview a high-energy, edgy contemporary dance piece that they will be performing again in their upcoming concert on December 2nd at Montgomery College.

As usual, this intimate Ad Deum Dance Company concert at Barnevelder Arts/Movement Complex will most likely sell out, so be sure to get there early. Call 713-626-5050 or Email Ad Deum for advanced tickets and more information.

Review: Dance of Asian America's "Splendid Asia" Concert

The best Chinese dancers in the world performed at Dance of Asian America’s “Splendid Asia: Tour of China” last month at Miller Outdoor Theater. After winning the Gold and Silver medals at China's triannual national dance contest this year, Xing Sang and Song Jie's performed for Houston with impeccable grace and emotional depth. They molded modern movement and classical chinese ballet together to create a new vision for fusion dance.

In anticipation of a public workshop in January, Xing Sang is currently offering and available for Master classes. Contact DAA for information on how to take class with Xing Sang or bring him to your school or studio.

WyldStyL at the 10th Annual 3rd Ward Art Fest
