Stop by the 'shop December 15 and 16 to pick up some moves!
Whether you're new to krumping, popping and tutting, or just looking to perfect your skills, the hip hop 'shop is the place to learn, practice and perform. It's a two day workshop, taught by choreographers Moon of Marvelous Motion, Shawn Welling of Planet Funk and Kathy Wood of FLY KiDs, that concludes with a free public performance featuring the collaboration of these choreographers and showcasing the participants' new moves. If you're completely new to dance, no worries! the hip hop 'shop has a laid back beginner's track. If you're looking to perform in a Dance Houston concert, this could be your in. Select dancers from the advanced level will be invited to perform the piece they learn at Dance Houston's Winter Formal at the Wortham Center on January 26, 2008. We hope to see you there!

Marvelous Motion Dance Studio is hosting the Red Bull Workshop this Saturday and Sunday, November 17 and 18. This two day workshop features six choreographers and is open to dancers of all levels.

Jennifer Wood, choreographer for Suchu Dance Company, has created subtle and interesting new work in Babka. With talented dancers and creative use of costumes and lighting, Suchu presents a visually intriguing piece. This weekend is your final opportunity to experience this intimate and quiet performance taking place at the Barnevelder Movement/Arts Complex.

Revolve Dance Company has emerged on the Houston dance scene this year "as the must have company on your bill" (Nancy Wozny for Dance Source Houston). In a unique collaboration with guest artists of contemporary dance company The Wes Veldink Movement, REvolution will feature both companies performing separately and jointly in an evening of retrospective works by world renowned choreographer and dancer Wes Veldink.

Highlights of this concert include Revolve's thought- provoking duet "Grand Canyon," choreographed by Revolve co-founders and co-directors Amy Cain and Dawn Dippel. ReVolution also features the Houston premiere of Veldink's moving and intimate duet "Overlap" performed by company directors Veldink and Cain. Set to music by various indie artists such as Ani DiFranco, The NoTwist, and Inner, Veldink's choreography fuses a technical vocabulary with human gestures and postures, providing an exciting landscape for Revolve and The Wes Veldink Movement to merge energies onstage with vulnerability and honesty - a true REvolution in contemporary dance.
