7/22/11 - Local Dance Coach Appearing on MTV's Made

Dance Houston's very own Kelly Ann Vitacca will be appearing as a ballet dance coach on MTV's show MADE, airing on July 25 at 3:00 CST. A Watch Party Event will be held the following week to celebrate this exciting accomplishment and for the overall Houston community to enjoy.


Kelly Ann Vitacca is a Houston based dance artist and consultant. She is a master dance teacher, guest choreographer, artistic producer and the former Artistic Coordinator for the Houston Ballet. She coaches youth and professional dancers in both ballet and jazz all across the country and manages performing artists nationwide for Mason-Rhynes productions. Here in Houston she is the Director of Programming for Dance Houston.


Vitacca coached a 17-year-old girl by the name of Tarayn.


Tarayn lives in Denton, TX and is a 6'2" volleyball player. Tarayn dreamed to be "MADE" into a ballerina to help build her self-esteem, grace and beauty.


"It was such a motivating experience teaching ballet technique to Tarayn, and it was very rewarding to use dance as a vessel to encourage her self confidence," said Director of Programming Kelly Ann Vitacca.


Vitacca's experience being filmed for the TV show MADE was a new adventure.


"I was determined to stay genuine in my methods both on and off camera. I wanted to give both Tarayn and the TV viewers an honest look into the training process and the world of dance," said Vitacca.

WATCH PARTY EVENT INFO

The Watch Party event will be held from 6:30-8:30 p.m. on Tuesday, August 2, 2011 at América's Restaurant in the River Oaks area. This free event is open to everyone and drink specials will be available. There will also be a wonderful dinner menu to select from as well as complimentary valet parking.
