Samantha Taborda has been dancing since 2007. In that time she has worked with Fusion Dance Company, Inertia Dance Company, and the Houston Central Dance Ensemble; performing with groups such as the Houston Symphony, Dallas Mavericks, Minute Maid Park, The Jewish Community Center, and the Dream at 50 MLK Project.
Born in 1997, Shamond Powell began dancing in 2008 with an after-school hip hop class. Throughout high school he was Lieutenant of Choreography for Inertia Dance company; this was followed by a scholarship to TSU. Shamond later returned to Westside as a choreographer and then as a repeat guest instructor at Budewig Intermediate School for ages 8 – 12.
As partners, they danced lead roles in Swing, Baby, Swing! with Creative Director Norma Miller who was the principal female dancer and choreographer for the first dance company from the United States of America to tour internationally.  Miller drew upon her experience in Hollywood movies and touring with Ella Fitzgerald to select and train the couple in authentic jazz dancing from the 1930’s and 40’s.  The couple has also danced for Tony Award winning dancers and choreographers Dwight Baxter and Carla Earle.  They have been favorite teachers at Dance Houston’s summer camp since 2016.
